Following her grandmother's and mother's professional dance footsteps, Claudia began studying Ballet Folkloriko at age 4. From there she went on to learn other disciplines such as tap, ballet, jazz, modern and hip-hop. Claudia has learned from great tap dancers such as mentor Bunny Briggs, Chance Taylor, Dianne Walker, Savion Glover, Derick Grant, Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, Ayodele Casel, Jason Samuels Smith,Mable Lee, Pam Thompson and many more. In New York, she taught tap dance, body percussion and movement for Hospital Audiences Inc. and for the NYC Board of Education. She has performed at venues such as The Joyce Theatre, The Duke Theatre on 42nd Street, Nuyorican Poets Café, Dixon Place and Swing 46. Claudia has had the privilege of dancing at some of Harlem's jazz clubs such as Showmans, Lenox Lounge, Minton's Playhouse and many others in New York.
In addition, Claudia has performed at the Tap Extravaganza Flo/Bert Awards in New York, Tap City, and Los Angeles tap festival. She was a soloist and choreographer for Michela Marino-Lerman’s show “Am+Bu$h+ED”. Claudia recently opened for the band WAR and worked with playwright and spoken word artist Reg E. Gaines, tap dancer Baakari Wilder from the Broadway hit Bring In Da Noise Bring In Da Funk and Michela Marino-Lerman. Her current project is working with some of San Diego's finest musicians Toby Ahrens and Todd Davidson. Together they created a rhythm and percussion group Groove On Tap!
